How can the price of the X1D be only $8,995 when the H6D sells for $26,995 and has the same sensor?
The H6D is priced higher as it is a much more modular system. This comprises a choice of optical view finders, a dedicated autofocus sensor and a removable digital back. Additionally, the capture unit can be used with technical camera systems or replaced with a film back if required. The H6D system also has a trade-in program to support it.
The X1D is offered at its competitive price owing to the following differences. The system is less modular than the H6D, does not have a supporting trade-in program, the view finder is fixed and there is no technical camera connectivity.
