The broncolor Para FB is impressive not only because of it's size and shape, but most of all because of it's unique light quality. Often used as a single light on many photo shoots, the Para is so much more than a light modifier, its a entire light system.
The Para FB comes in four different sizes, the smallest, the Para 88 FB is 2 ft in diameter, the Para 170 FB is 5.5 ft in diameter, the Para 220 FB being 7.2 ft in diameter and the largest, the Para 330 FB having a 11 ft diameter.
The Para 170 FB begins to resemble that of a very large spot. It's very interesting on textures and more bright in highlights. Due to it's size, it doesn't have the same 3D effect created by the larger sizes but has advantages in that it can be used in small studios and at shorter distances.
The Para 220 FB provides a soft, dimensional light without becoming flat. The 220 FB becomes closer to having spot-like qualities at longer distances from the subject. This size is perfect for medium to large studios.
The Para 330 FB is our largest para offered. It can fill a large studio with beautiful wrapping light. Being such a large light source, the model would be much more free to move around without affecting the light falling on him or her. The photographer could even stand directly in front of the Para without it affecting the quality of light on the subject.
Each different Para, while all supplying the same amazing light of a true parabolic umbrella, are unique in the characteristics that their sizes provide them. What separates the broncolor Para from the cheaper imitations, is not only the size, but also the ease of use, build quality, and 24 individual segments, which provide the light with it's dimensionality and ability to envelop the subject.
